- Glucobay tablet contains Acarbose 25mg which belongs to a group of medicines called Anti-Diabetic and used to treat people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It works by preventing the intestinal enzymes responsible for breaking complex sugars into simple sugars and decreases high blood glucose levels.
- Glucobay 25 Tablet’s most common side effects diarrhoea, flatulence (Gas) and abdominal pain. Some people may experience hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar level) when this tablet is taken along with other anti diabetic medicines, alcohol, or if you skip a meal.
- Regularly monitor your blood sugar levels while taking it. Don't quit the medication unless your doctor recommends you. Lifestyle modifications play a crucial role in controlling diabetes along with the treatment program. So it is essential to rely on the diet and exercise program as advised by your doctor.
- Before initiating the treatment and taking this medicine, you should inform your doctor about your complete medical history. If you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or breast feeding, need to inform your doctor. Doctor may suggest some medical tests before initiating treatment. This medicine is not recommended for the use in children aged fewer than 6.
- It helps slow down the breaking of food in the intestine to simple glucose and lower the blood glucose levels after meals.

Directions of Use:
