This encourages lactobacilli to expand, reducing the presence of harmful bacteria and preventing infection. A pH of 3.5 is needed for healthy vaginal flora. Most soaps are alkaline in nature, with a pH of 8 or higher. The use of soap to clean the vaginal region on a regular basis disrupts the vaginal pH balance. This causes vaginal discomforts such as dryness, pain, and scratching, as well as the possibility of vaginal infections. VWash Plus contains lactic acid, which helps to restore vaginal pH equilibrium, as well as sea buckthorn oil, which is high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids.
